Shelton Robinson Joins Mountain View Event Center
Shelton Robinson has joined the Pocatello-Chubbuck Auditorium District as Operations Manager for the Mountain View Event Center – the ‘MEC’ – scheduled to open in Pocatello this fall.
As Operations Manager, Robinson will oversee all aspects of the daily operation of Idaho’s newest multipurpose event center, and will assist other staff members of the Pocatello-Chubbuck Auditorium District in formation of management policy, event booking and long-term planning for the facility.
“My goal is to give all the people in this community and all of our visitors from outside the community an excellent experience that makes them want to come back,” said Robinson.
A Pocatello native, Robinson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Performance Management from Weber State University, where he was an offensive tackle for the football team for four years. He then took a position at Idaho State University as a graduate coaching assistant, where he earned a Master’s degree in athletic administration.
Robinson points out both economic and community benefits associated with facilities like Mountain View. “The MEC will bring millions of dollars into our community, as people travel here for the wide variety of events the center can accommodate. Growing up as an athlete, I’m very excited about the practice and tournament opportunities the MEC will provide to our community’s youth.”
Robinson is married to the former Breanne Van Every, a seventh-grade science teacher at Irving Middle School, and a former volleyball player for Idaho State University. Breanne is also an assistant volleyball coach at Century High School.
